Travel through the Design Cycle

Goal: Your task is to plan a weekend getaway for someone else. You must choose a location in the United Stated that you have NEVER been to so that it requires research on your part.

Learn to use PowerPoint better! (this may be a strategy to make an awesome presentation)

Audience: Your target audience will be Century Middle School student travelers and their families.

Situation: In order to create an advertisement, you must learn about the destination - where it is located, attractions to see and interesting facts about the destination.

Purpose: You will use create an advertisement using PowerPoint to encourage travelers to come to a destination of your choosing for a weekend getaway.

Students will create a process journal for our keyboarding practice!

1. Download the journal for Tech 7 from Here
2. File > Make a Copy!
3. Rename it: LastFirstReflection+AssessmentTouchTypingGPD
4. Click on the folder next to the file name in the document to move to a folder
5. Then you will need to Create a New folder
6. Name it TechGPD
7. Then click DONE to Move it to the Folder
8. In order to share a with tech teacher, please click on SHARE and type in my name: Jan Hulstrom
9. Click on Advanced
10. Uncheck the boxnext to where it says:

    Notify people via email  -  Add message

11. It will ask you if you want to skip sending invitations?
12. Click OK

4. Save this document to your H drive in a Tech8 folder as:

6. Log into Schoology
7. Upload the page to the assignment titled Typing from the Edge

Create a Schoology Account

• Link to Schoology and join your class!!!
• If you already have an account, sign in and join our class
• If you DON"T have an account associated with your student email address, create one!
• Here are your codes - find your class and Sign up as a student
• These are the directions you need to follow to create a log in for you:

Schoology Access Code: is on your class web page

You will need to

1. Double click this access code (listed below by your GPD in the grey chart) and press Cntl+C (copy)
2. Follow this link to Schoology
3. Select Join
4. Select Student
5. Click into the Access Code area
6. Press Cntl+V (Paste) the the Access Code area (it should be on your computer's clipboard)
7. Click the Continue button
8. Type in your First and Last Name (USING A CAPITAL FIRST LETTER IN EACH)
9. Open another tab and sign into your Gmail
10. Compose a new email - type your name in the to: and click it so it makes the email addressed to you
11. Click and highlight your email address following your name (where it appears with an x next to it)
12. Hold Control key, press the C key (COPY)
13. Paste that into the email address of the register screen
14. Type in your network password as your password (and again to confirm it)
15. Click the Register button.
